Meet the doctors
Dr. Candace Wakefield is a board certified children’s dental specialist. She has the unique ability to relate to kids. Dr. Wakefield is passionate about helping children of all ages maintain a healthy and beautiful smile by establishing a positive attitude towards dentistry.
Dr. Wakefield was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. She graduated from the University of Missouri- Columbia in 1995. Dr. Wakefield attended Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine and earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 2000. After dental school, she continued her dental education and attended Howard University in Washington D.C. She was elected chief resident in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry and received her Specialty Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry in 2002. In 2011, she was awarded the Distinguished Alumni Award from Howard University for her commitment to community service and the profession.
Dr. Wakefield enjoys teaching as well as her full time clinical practice. She was also a faculty member of Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Wakefield is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Missouri Dental Association as well as the Greater St. Louis Dental Society. She has volunteered her dental services to meet the needs of children in other countries such as Nicaragua and Jamaica. In November 2010, Dr. Wakefield traveled to China as a Delegate Ambassador with the People to People program.
Dr. Wakefield is also active in her church and once served as a youth Sunday school teacher. In her spare time she likes to spend time with her family, travel, and watch movies.
Dr.Wakefield pledges to provide all children with outstanding dental care in the safest, effective, efficient, and enthusiastic manner possible. Dr. Wakefield is interested in promoting dental awareness for both children and their parents. She wants your child to have the most pleasant experience so as to achieve the benefits of healthy teeth and gums for a lifetime!
Dr. Caroline Giles was raised in Cape Girardeau. She graduated from Missouri State University with an undergraduate degree in Biology. Dr. Giles completed her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, gaining valuable experience with patients of all ages. After dental school and time in private practice as a general dentist. Dr. Giles completed her residency in pediatric denistry at the University of Toledo Medical Center gaining two additional years of speciality training and earning a Master's Degree. After practicing pediatric dentistry for several years in Ohio, she is excited to return to her home.
Dr. Giles' gentle one-on-one approach makes children of every age feel both comfortable and confident. She enjoys both patient care and counceling parents regarding the oral health of their children. In addition to taking care of children, she enjoys spending time with her husband Paul and son Ethan.

We specialize in providing outstanding service for infants, children, adolescents and young adults. Our goal is to establish great oral health habits and a program of preventive dental care early in your child’s life.
